General Questions

  1. How do I reach you?

    ar3systems.com can be reached by sending E-mail to sales@ar3systems.com You can also contact us via Voice Mail/Fax at 301-953-9147(Voice), 301-483-9367 (Fax). Our mailing address is AR3 Systems, Inc., 15653 Mews Court, Laurel, Maryland 20707. We prefer to conduct business via E-mail or our website.

  2. Is there technical support available?

    Yes, we try to respond to requests for support within 24 hours of receipt of E-mail to support@ar3systems.com

  3. Is there any extra charge for hits, or transmission charges?

    No. There are never any extra charges for bandwith or transmission charges. However domains averaging hits in excess of 50,000 per day should be on a dedicated server.

  4. Can I publish my website with FrontPage® by Microsoft?

    Yes you can. When you complete our Order Form please check that you would like FrontPage® installed. There is no additional charge for this. FrontPage® can be added at anytime at no charge by simply writing to support@ar3systems.com.

  5. Are there any restrictions on the content or use of my Virtual Host or Virtual Server?

    Yes. Adult sites are not permitted. We also prohibit the use of SPAM from any of our Virtual Hosts. If you are in doubt about acceptable use please contact support@ar3systems.com prior to ordering your server.  Accounts are subject to cancellation without notice or refund for violating these policies.

  6. I want to block unsolicited E-mail. Is there anything I can do?

    All Virtual Host accounts include five E-mail POP accounts.  If you use this account as your primary E-mail account you can take advantage of our program which blocks E-mail from known spammers. If you received E-mail from a spammer, send us the E-mail to support@ar3systems.com and we will block further E-mail from the sender.

  7. How do I switch my site from another ISP to ar3systems.com

    The first step in switching an existing web site is to order a Virtual Host from ar3systems.com. The order form is available via our Order Center. Once the server has been ordered, you will receive a DNS modification request form from us. A change of request for an existing DNS must be initiated by the customer after the account with us is established. We also have a template generator available in our Order Center.

  8. How do I actually order a new domain name?

    We will provide you with the necessary forms after your order is processed. You will be billed by Internic for the charge for registering your domain name. You can use the form available at the bottom of this page to check on name availability.

Virtual Hosting Questions

  1. What is Virtual Hosting?

    Virtual Hosting is a cost effective method for hosting top level domain names on the Internet. A top level domain name is http://www.your-preferred name.com Virtual Hosting is a popular concept because it allows multiple domain names to be hosted on the same httpd server. Virtual Hosting is based on IP addresses, where the server requests are sorted based on the IP address and appropriate content is served from a corresponding sub directory of the server.

  2. How do I access my Virtual Host?

    Access to your Virtual Host is available through   FTP. The WS_FTP95 program is recommended for tasks such as uploading files and creating or deleting directories. You should use FTP to transfer graphic files.

  3. How do I order a Virtual Host?

    Order Forms are available through our Order Center.

  4. How many E-mail accounts come with my order?

    Each Virtual Host order comes with five POP accounts. In addition to the POP account you can have E-mail forwarding for up to ten addresses. Email can be forwarded to your POP account with us or to any valid Email address you specify. There is no extra charge for this. Please contact support@ar3systems.com to activate any email forwarding.

  5. Are CGI scripts provided with the Virtual Host option?

    Each Virtual Host comes with it's own unique CGI bin directory which includes a Forms Processing Program and Guestbook. . We reserve the right to require prior approval for any scripts that we don't provide.  We maintain a full library of cgi scripts. Please contact support@ar3systems.com with specific requests.

Billing and Payment Options

  1. What form of payment is acceptable?

    Currently we accept checks and money orders for payment of accounts, but accounts will be de-activated if payment is not received by the first of each month for the proceeding month's service.  We will soon be accepting Visa, Mastercard, Discover and will be able bill your credit card prior to the last business day of the month for the next month charges.  Sales tax will be added to all orders from within Maryland.

  2. Can I cancel my account?

    Yes, you can cancel your account at anytime with 30 days notice.
